NaNoWriMo Plotting (Part 1)

I'm calling this part one because I'm sure that there's no way that I'm going to finish deciding what I want to write about today.

I've written a couple of stories in a series that I foresee encompassing a bunch of different characters, but all set in the same universe (sort of like a non-concurrent soap opera). The third one I've started, but probably won't finish any time soon. But since I've started it, it doesn't exactly count specifically for NaNo, so I'm going to move on to story 4.

I'm not sure who Story 4 is about, though. Options are:
Friedy: I know she'll end up with a boyfriend... or maybe break up with, then get back together with the boyfriend she's had since Sorry (the first story). She logically comes next in a chain of un-matched people spreading out from Caden, the hero of story one.
Edward: Ed had a girlfriend in the first story, too, but she lied to him, and it wasn't really based on much. It was more of a fling complicated by the fact that she had a daughter that she didn't tell him about. I don't see much of a future in him, though.
Amanda: The aforementioned girlfriend with child, heiress to some giant corporation.
Actors whose names I've forgotten: I know it doesn't bode well that I've forgotten their names, but they appear in story 3 (Bandy's story), and I've barely introduced them. They're both men who probably need girlfriends. Or possibly boyfriends because maybe they're gay. I don't rule that out. Maybe they're gay with each other. Interesting, though somewhat cliched.

And actually, now that I think about it I could write about:
Elizabeth Laurence: The main character from my first story's mother.
Melinda: The woman whose sister died of cancer who is now left to raise her four-ish year old son.
Ivan: The aforementioned four-ish-year old son. After all, he'll be starting school and maybe I want to write from a five-year-old's point of view.

What I'm lacking is that unique little twist that will get me through it to actually finish the story. It might be that I need to leave the universe before I can get that back, but who knows right now? Certainly not me.
