So, here's day two. It was not nearly so productive as day one. Why? I'm not sure.
I did end up changing POVs from one character to the next, so perhaps he's less interesting than the first one? I think it's more that I've covered a lot of the main background stuff in the first part (that I'll probably have to move around throughout the novel to make it less boring) and now it's still the beginning of the novel. It's not quite time for the first call to adventure.
Strangely, I think this novel is actually going to have a 'beginning' that is not particularly long. Usually I find myself past the halfway mark before things start to snowball away to a conclusion. I think I might be peaking earlier in this novel, which makes it interesting... that might just mean that my novel ends up shorter than the estimated fifty-something thousand.
I'm in the middle of a scene that's a little more interesting, and then I should be able to work the call into the next scene which means that tomorrow I should be better equipped to have a higher word count. We'll just have to see.
