I woke up this morning

Too early.

I spent the extra hour brainstorming new ideas for my story which has led to me coming up with: the triplets.

The main (still nameless) boy needed a nemesis his own age. For some reason I gave him three... possibly because they are so young that they haven't managed to establish identities separate from one another, so they're really only one person. But trying. All characters need motivation.

Anyway, they're the daughters of the boy's mother's greatest political rival. Some old man who doesn't understand that the city's demographics have changed since he was voted in as mayor. The city's now full of twenty-something career driven (but still young) people who live there for the cheapness and ease of commute to the CBD.

And since I'm actually mostly following the actual Australian local council political system, I realised that the boy's mother needs some people to run with her. Though she'll be the leader and likely to be elected mayor later on. I decided that they're her old high school friends. They never moved away from the area they grew up in, but they've each had different careers in the meantime.

I thought of other stuff too, but it's written down on paper, so I don't need to transpose it. Well, maybe I should but if I lose it, I'll just think of it again.

P.S. Before I blogged, I got distracted by this Blog of Note: The Book Design Review. It's inspired me to come up with new ideas for the cover of my 2006 NaNovel.
